“Strict adherence to (Florida Statute) 119 will be the rule of the day….” that quote has been attributed to Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott in an article published by the Sun Times, a Gannett Company, on March 3, 2012.  Apparently Sheriff Scott has developed an adversarial relationship with the media.

Frankly, when I read a quote like “[s]trict adherence to (Florida Statute) 119 will be the rule of the day…” I find myself with an overwhelming urge to test that “adherence.”  Given Sheriff Scott’s treatment of inmates and his apparent disregard for the US Constitution I can’t wait to test his willingness to comply with Article 1, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119.07 of the Florida Statutes.

So here’s the deal:  I’m going to audit Sheriff Scott’s “[s]trict adherence to (Florida Statute) 119…”  and I’ll do everything I can to help him keep his promise.  Welcome, Sheriff Mike Scott, to my growing list of “special projects.”
