Lawsuit Asks Candidate to Release Emails

In an article published today by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, a lawsuit has been filed against Ed Brodsky, Assistant State Attorney in the 12th Judicial Circuit of Florida (Sarasota, Manatee and De Soto Counties).   Brodsky is currently a candidate running for the office of State Attorney in the same circuit.

According to the article, the lawsuit alleges that Brodsky unlawfully denied access to certain emails that he made or received as part of his official duties.  The denials of access came in the form or excessive fees and simply refusing to deliver several hundred emails to the requester.

As the plaintiff in the lawsuit, I think the article fairly represents the facts.  The number of lawsuits that I’ve filed is slightly off.  The article puts the number at twenty.  I said in the interview that I have about twenty currently pending.  The total so far is closer to 70+.  But I can’t be sure as I’ve lost count.
