Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys: Why Open Government Matters

The Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys is, perhaps, the best example of why open government matters in Florida.  If you believe this sort of thing could never happen again, I invite you to visit any juvenile detention facility in the State of Florida and make a public records request.  I have, and not one has ever complied with Florida’s Public Records Act.  You have to wonder what they are hiding.

Joel, I had never heard of any of this! I just spent a little while reading about this horrible place and poor victims! Great point…..Open Government Matters!!!! Thanks for keeping this story alive! It most definitely looks like they are trying to hide something!

    Joel,
The White House Boys was an ongoing house of horrors for decades. In fact the greater part of a century. Every man in Florida aged 40 to 75 years old was probably threatened with if you don’t straighten up we gona send you to Marianna!

Lots and lots of important people knew for years what was going on at the White House Boys. They turned their heads because it was a dirty subject and they didn’t want to get involved. Thanks to the University of South Florida and one determined brother they have recently found another cluster of grave sites.

You say “If you believe this sort of thing could never happen again, I invite you to visit any juvenile detention facility in the State of Florida and make a public records request.”

But OH these abusers and others who get their “Jollies” abusing children (especially the boys) have set up “private religious schools” to attract those from broken homes and such and show them the way to Christ! These such schools are exempt from DCF and other goverment inspections they say! Many have been reported to be long on hins houses of horror.

The Green Isle Boys Ranch opearted near Clermont in Lake County from 1989 until it was closed in 2010. It was primarily run by the Don Brown Family who also owns Bridges of American a FDOC vendor collecting millions and millions of our tax dollars for their prison release programs and Prison Ministries.

The present Sheriff of Lake County; Gary Borders was a founding board member of The Green Isle Boys Ranch which from almost the beginning was the home of untold numbers of sexual abuse of the boys by school employee’s and older students as well.

Every last report of child and sex abuse at Green Isle was covered up by the powerful. Even a December 2000 criminal reported against the management of the school by DCF Investigator Chester Wood was never acted on and allowed to expire by the Lake Sheriff’s Office Captain Don Gregory in 2003. State Attorney Brad King refused a 2008 prosecution for abuse.

The March 2010 closing of Green Isle was brought on by the November 21, 2009 reported rapes of five little boys to Sheriff Borders Office. Once again he hid the complaints and failed to act on them from that date until new house parents got the news of the rapes on Orlando TV on February 3, 2010. Insiders say at that time Sheriff Borders faked up an arrest of a 17 year old reported to be the rapist and a fake run through the Lake Court system and out the back door.

All of this information can be found all over the internet by simply googling Green Isle Boys Rapes.

To this day Sheriff Gary Borders has not been held accountable for his 20 plus years involvement with Green Isle Boys and his cover ups of all the abuse and sexual abuse of the boys at Green Isle Ranch. It is true many people don’t know about The victims of The White House Boys and the Green Isle Boys, but hose who do continue to lie and cover their involvement in the horros ever day while the victims continue to suffer and relive their horrors everday.

To think of this happening so many years ago in a time when this was not even heard of, to “NOW”.To see grown men today who were so tragically beaten and even to talk about it today it brings to them such heartache, emotion and is overwhelming.I ask myself how much worse it must be today in this day and hour when everything is so over looked and everyone is so desensitized and truly has learned to just turn their heads.I just want to personally say “Thank you” for showing us as people we do have the right to ask questions. To go deeper and look more into places that are holding young children and to know we have the right to do so! Just by using this right could change the lives of so many. To think of stopping in a place such as these and ask for the public records request even if they will not comply it has to spark some kind of fear in them. Its just the extra step we must take to continue to move forward and repeatedly ask, ask, and ask again. Not to be like most and say “oh well there nothing I can do” its more like “I” can and “I” will and continue to do so until we receive these records and showing others we do have the right and open government is ours to hold on to!

Joel, while reading the news tonight, I ran across another article about this place of little shop of horrors. I am still amazed with this whole story…thanks again!!!

It is amazing how people are amazed that something like the White House boys happened right under everyone’s noses for decades and everyone claims they didn’t know. The powerful people in control knew just like the powerful in control are involved in and know about the victims of Lake County Sheriff Borders Green Isle Ranch.

But what is really amazing is people only want to hear about the history of child abuse and how terrible it is, not the reality that it’s been going on right here in Lake County at at the Sheriff Green Isle Boys Ranch from 1989 until the mews leakes of five brutal rapes of little boys he had concealed and tried to cover up forced hm and his friends to closed the ranch in March 2010.

Some of these victims are still not yet 18 years old. While Sheriff Borders was denying to do anything about their reports of rape by his little friend some of these victims attempted to kill themselves.

The victims are still victims. Gary Borders is still the sheriff of Lake County and just last week asked the Lake County Commission to fund him the money to renovate his county jail to house juvenile offenders. Remember, this is the same jail that would not let your brother Robert look at their jail visitor log recently! (also the scene of sexual abuse of inmates by Gary Borders according to a retired captain and other jail employees as well, as reported to the FBI in 2009-2010 per these witnesses and other insiders)

Yet to this day not one thing has ever been done about the multi-rapes of little boys at Green Isle or any of the jail sex which according to eye witnesses ws commited by the sheriff of lake County himself!

People don’t care about this! All they care about is giving lip service to something that happen years ago when most of the victims are long dead now and they lied about where they buried them.

This boys are 14-18 years old and hopefully still alive and every government agency and most of the people have turned their backs on them and don’t give a hoot as long as their abusers are powerful people who with the sick friends control the local lame stream media.

The people of Florida who care about children and animals being abused should demand a real investigation into the long sexual abuse history of Sheriff Borders and his Green Isle Boys Ranch.

But they won’t; they’ll want 40-50 years and then they’ll finally disclose all the brutal sex abuse by the sheiff and his friends who use to check the boys out for the weekend as the Lake Louise Lodge and take them shopping and such.

They can’t dare investigate these powerful people and bring the truth to light because too many of them have played with the litllte boys at Green Isle!

It goes on and on how this person and that person were complicit and were never held accountable. Well, what does that tell you? It says it is up to you to hold them accountable. If you lack the courage to do it, or if you feel it is not worth the sacrifice, what do you think it is worth? What, pissing and moaning and crying on internet forums? They put the bill in file 13. The state exploited you because you were mostly from low-income, broken homes, and disadvantaged backgrounds. Like predators they searched the herd for the most vulnerable to isolate for their nefarious purposes. They put you in out-of-sight,out-of-mind places to beat you to bloody pulp. I know very well about the beatings and the torture sessions. Some were every bit as sadistic, cruel, and severe as the WHBz say, and some I witnessed were much worse.

How well does it represent the white house boys that they elected as their president, Richard J. (Dick) Colon of Baltimore, whose sister-in-law at this moment has complaints against him on the internet that he viciously, repeatedly raped her when she was 11, forced her into group sex, and coerced her to get an abortion at 12? Colon is a child abuser and a sex offender. He has gone free, we suspect, because of the immense wealth he has accumulated in the construction business.

Some of the WHBz were vicious violent thugs during their times in that Marianna boys’ school. They attacked and seriously injured their inmates. We know about some of the attacks. I have read many of their stories. I have detected many distortions and some outright lies in their accountings of the past. Generally speaking, with several notable exceptions, they are stupid, backwards, ignorant, uneducated, alcoholics or reconstituted alcoholics and ex-convicts looking for an easy payday, courtesy of the tax payers of the state of Florida. As for some of the white house boys I have met, the only thing I would want my tax dollars to pay for in reference to them is a prison cell.
