Carlos Miller of PINAC (Photography Is Not A Crime) Covers FOGWatch

Coral Gables Police Department

Our good friend and fellow-travler Carlos Miller has posted several videos of one of our recent roadshows. Miller operates the wildly popular blog, Photography Is Not A Crime (PINAC).

Miller, a credentialed photojournalist, has been repeatedly arrested and prosecuted for photographing LEOs. So far he’s been acquitted each time, including winning his appeal as a Pro Se defendant. As you’ll see from the video, Carlos has not been intimidated by his previous encounters with LE.

For the sake of full-disclosure, Carlos is my friend and we (Robert and I) stayed at his condo during our visit to the Magic City.  But as anyone who knows Carlos can attest, I had no control over what Carlos decides to do with a camera. We did not put him up to video tapping our field trip. He decided to do that all on his own.

Minus the hysteria caused by the presence of a video camera, these encounters are actually remarkably typical of our in-person audits.

  1. And how many camras were watching you from the time you enter the building. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. As a throw back from the 60′s our motto has always been “question authority ” and I haven’t change in 50 years. Keep up the great work.

There’s an old saying: “It would be really funny if it wasn’t really happening…”

There are two options for citizens: Comply or keep advocating for your rights. Complying deprives you of your rights… and the demand for people to sign and fill out paperwork only seeks to annoy citizens enough so they give up and walk away.

    Do not give up…!

Lastly, I’m a veteran who has gone overseas to fight for and ensure the rights of others by showing democracy works. It is amazing how that same democracy seems to be something forgotten back at home.

Excellent; it might have been a bit more clear if the record request was separate from the video. Both need to be challenged and those on the payroll need to learn their job.

This is great. I love it! Keep up the good work and EXPOSE and SUE!! Those leo who go after everyone else for allegedly breaking laws are criminal law breakers themselves! They deserve to be sued! I have two questions. Do you have plans to go to the north port pd and document their actions? They are so corrupt and such reprobate law breakers it boggles the mind.

Also, I e-mailed you documents and pictures in reference to my daughters case against THAT brutal, lying-thug police force who deceitfully and maliciously orchestrated a cover-up involving her injury. Did you have time to review the documents and do you know of an attorney who might take the case? Please e-mail me at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you and thank you!

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Can you imagine what lies below.

  6. Michael Barfield says:

Hilarious! I stopped counting the violations about 60 seconds after you entered the building.
